The inspiration for Fat Fish Tackle began with a common frustration: cheap flasher rigs that consistently disappointed during crucial fishing moments. After years of making and using our own successful rigs, and receiving positive feedback from fellow fishers, we realised the New Zealand fishing community deserved better. This led to the birth of Fat Fish Tackle, offering high-quality rigs made by someone who truly understands the needs of local anglers.

From the Wharf to the Boat
Fishing has been a cherished passion of mine since childhood. I learned the art of fishing from my grandmother on the Whanganui wharf, embarking on countless adventures with family and friends—from surfcasting to fishing charters. Now, I am thrilled to pass on these beloved skills to my own children. Owning my first boat has opened up new horizons, allowing me to take family and friends out on the water to share in this incredible sport and catch fish that nourish their families. It fills me with pride to see my children share there catch with there friends and witness the joy it brings them. Every child deserves the chance to catch fish and help feed their families.
